Korea times 영어 기사를 살펴 보다가 새로 지명된 기획재정부 장관이 AI 기반 산업을 활성화시키겠다는 인터뷰를 보았습니다. AI 산업 육성은 필요한 일이긴 하지만 걱정도 많이 되서 이에 대한 에세이를 써봤습니다.
영어 에세이 실력을 키우기 위해, 제가 직접 써 본 글과 AI 교정 결과를 비교해봤습니다.
✍️ 내가 쓴 원문 (My Original Essay)
What is the future that AI make? As a teacher of social study, I often talk about the future my students face a decade later. With the fast transformation AI make, many jobs, especially for the unskilled laborors, are destined to be disappeared. Someone say the new technologies will create new jobs. So dont worry. But there is inevitably a cultural staggering until people adapt themselves to the new environment. Others say human will disappear because the highly advanced AI dominate all human like in Terminator, the famous movie. But human is anyway at stake such climate change, food safety, unpredictable pandemic etc, It is not right all blames attributed to AI. Actually, Im concerned with a new economic depression AI may cause. If people are dismissed from their job, most people do not have enough money to spend. And this will result in an evil cycle to the economy, contrary to the improved convenience AI make.

AI는 어떤 미래를 만들어낼까? 사회과목 교사로서, 학생들이 10년 후에 맞이하게 될 미래에 대해 자주 이야기한다. AI가 가져오는 빠른 변화 속에서, 특히 비숙련 노동자들이 종사하는 많은 일자리들이 사라질 운명에 놓여 있다. 어떤 사람들은 새로운 기술이 새로운 일자리를 만들 것이니 걱정할 필요가 없다고 말한다. 하지만 사람들이 새로운 환경에 적응하기 전까지는 문화지체 현상이 불가피하다. 또 어떤 이들은 고도로 발달한 AI가 영화 '터미네이터'처럼 인간을 지배할 것이라며, 인류 자체가 사라질 것이라고 걱정한다. 그러나 인류는 어차피 기후변화, 식량 문제, 예측 불가능한 대질환 등 다양한 위기에 이미 처해 있다. 모든 문제를 AI 탓으로 돌리는 건 옳지 않다. 사실 내가 더 걱정하는 것은 AI가 초래할 수 있는 새로운 경기 침체다. 사람들이 일자리를 잃는다면, 대부분의 사람들은 소비할 돈이 부족할 것이고, 이는 AI가 제공하는 편리함과는 반대로 경제에 악순환을 가져올 것이다.

🌱 작성 소감
AI로 첨삭을 받으면서 영어 공부를 해보니 영작 실력이 빨리 느는 것은 좋습니다.
하지만 원래의 의도와는 다르게 AI가 스스로 생각해서 첨삭을 하는 건 좀 아쉽네요. 저는 문화지체를 생각해서 cultural staggering을 썼는데, cultural shock으로 번역을 합니다. 나중에 다시 찾아보내 문화지체는 cultural lag이라고 하는 군요.
모든 것을 AI에게만 맡겨 놓으면 안되고 사람이 스스로 배우고, AI는 보조를 하는 것이 더 좋은 결과를 줄 것 같습니다.
